Course Description: This course will explore the many aspects of social media communication including the history of social media and its current hold on communication throughout the world. Students will write for social media and create their own digital communication using the latest social media platforms.
Objectives:
1. Identify major social media platforms and the role they play.
2. Create content for various social media platforms.
3. Use social media as a tool to create effective digital messages.
Requirements: Any assignments discussed in class can be found under the module or assignment link. We will discuss issues and topics under the discussion link or DQ1 and DQ2 in your module.
Paper Format: Any formal written assignments must be typed, 12-point font size, double-spaced, with one-inch margins. Any papers or projects must be saved as Rich Text Formats or PDF. If you have any questions about paper format, please e-mail me or follow the MLA paper format referenced in your traditional freshman composition class. You will write your articles in AP Style.
Evaluation: Students will be evaluated through participation, assignments, and projects. You will be required to meet deadlines. There are no make-up discussions, and no late assignments will be accepted.
